Prayers for Dads – Day 5

Prayers for Dads

Coming out of our last series I did a search for “dad” in the devotions within the Bible app and scrolling through this new one appeared. With my other reading speaking to me about the importance of prayer over fear and worry, this felt like a great devotional to pick up. Looking at the description, the topic feels so relevant and important that I have decided to get started. Today’s devotional shares the following description: “Spend time praying for the fathers and father figures in your life and worldwide through this seven-day plan. Pray over various biblical aspects of fatherhood.” So let’s get started, spending time praying for the dads and father figures in our lives and around the world!

Today’s Scripture from the devotional:

‘Teach the older men to be temperate, worthy of respect, self-controlled, and sound in faith, in love and in endurance. ‘

Titus 2:2

‘When a period of feasting had run its course, Job would make arrangements for them to be purified. Early in the morning he would sacrifice a burnt offering for each of them, thinking, “Perhaps my children have sinned and cursed God in their hearts.” This was Job’s regular custom. ‘

Job 1:5

‘Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ. ‘

1 Corinthians 11:1

God is good and is calling us into a relationship with Him through His Son Jesus. God’s Word explains that when we receive Him we are called into His royal priesthood (1 Peter 2:9)! God’s Word is our instruction manual! God’s Word is our source of truth! God’s Word isn’t some manmade book but rather is God-breathed! So let’s be the dads who take time and make time to be with God and hear from Him through His Word!

Let’s be the dads who are temperate, worthy of respect, self-controlled, and sound in faith, love, and endurance! Let’s be the dads who raise up our sons to be men who are temperate, worthy of respect, self-controlled, and sound in faith, love, and endurance! Let’s be the dads who demonstrate to our wives, our kids, and our world that we are temperate, worthy of respect, self-controlled, and sound in faith, love, and endurance! Let’s be the dads who are looking out for the best for our wives, our kids, and our world! Let’s be the dads who like Job make arrangements for them to be purified! Let’s be the dads who are focused on our wives, our kids, and our world getting and being right with God! Let’s be the dads who are following Jesus’ example!
