Let’s be the dads who know what God’s Word says. Let’s cling to His Word and His promises. I shared in another post this morning “The alarm woke me up this morning, that is a rare occurrence in my schedule as I tend to wake up without the alarm. As I lied there praying for my wife, my family, my workplace and giving them up to God today, I got up and started my morning routine. It starts with checking out the daily devotional for the day.” It reminded me of God’s promise and command through Joshua 1:9. And help me to lean into God and what His Word has to say for every day.
Embracing and Cling to Courage in God’s Presence
In the hustle and bustle of our daily lives, it’s crucial for us to anchor ourselves in the unwavering truth of God’s promises. Today’s title, “Know God’s Promises and cling to them,” resonates with a profound need for believers to not only possess knowledge of these promises but to actively cling to them in faith. Just as the daily routine of prayer and devotion guided one individual’s morning, it serves as a poignant reminder of the imperative to align our lives with the timeless wisdom found in God’s Word. Therefore, let’s be the dads who aren’t lost or confused but rather remember that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him and who are called according to His purpose. Additionally, let’s be the dads who daily wake up and choose to love God and pursue His will and plans for our lives! Moreover, let’s be the dads who know God’s Word because we spend time in it and study it and meditate on it daily.
Today’s Devotional kicks off on the subject of human nature and asking or wanting to try to understand “why?”. It uses the example of “when bad things happen to good people”. It points to how by nature we want to “understand the apparent senselessness of accidents, suffering, failure, or persecution.” Let’s be the dads who lean harder into God during those times because “our faith can be shaken” when we try to “understand how a loving God could allow bad things to happen.”
Paul asserts that we know, not think but know
Today’s Devotional reminds us and points us when we are facing difficult time to “the blessed promise” Paul confidently and without hesitation wrote about and asserted. Through scripture, we see how Paul had to deal with suffering and persecution and yet, “he declares that we know, deep in our hearts, that bad things do not need to be feared.” We know God is at work behind the scenes and so we do not need to fear or be afraid because He is bringing good out of what seems bad in our eyes.
Let’s be the dads who don’t lose hope or faith in the situations or circumstances that we see or experience because we know that God is good, God is love, and there is no darkness in Him, so we can take hold of His Word and step up and step out strong and courageous to step into today. Let’s be the dads who know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
Today’s Devotional concludes with this reminder: “The ultimate good toward which He is working is His glorification and the salvation of His children.”
