Divine Companionship: Not Being Alone but Rather God with Us

As we begin today, we need to remember the reason for the season we are in, the birth of Jesus. We aren’t to go it alone but to live in companionship with God! He didn’t come so God is out there somewhere but rather to be Immanuel, God with us! So let us make today count, not allowing yesterday to hold us back or the desires of tomorrow to rob us of our joy. Let’s make the most of today so we can meet the needs of our wives and kids in ways that will bring God the praise, honor, and glory in Jesus’ name.

Divine Companionship – You are not alone:

  • Matthew 28:20 (NIV): “And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
  • Psalm 139:7-10 (NIV): “Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.”
  • Jeremiah 23:23-24 (NIV): “Am I only a God nearby,” declares the Lord, “and not a God far away? Who can hide in secret places so that I cannot see them?” declares the Lord. “Do not I fill heaven and earth?” declares the Lord.
  • Isaiah 41:10 (NIV): “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
  • Deuteronomy 31:8 (NIV): “The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”

Divine Companionship – Living life in relationship with God:

  • Proverbs 3:5-6 (NIV): “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”
  • Colossians 3:17 (NIV): “And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”
  • Romans 12:2 (NIV): “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”
  • Psalm 37:4 (NIV): “Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.”
  • Micah 6:8 (NIV): “He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.”

Choosing to invite Jesus to be Lord of All of our life:

We are faced with deciding if we will invite Jesus into our lives to be Lord of All otherwise, we are saying that He is not Lord at all. So let’s make the right choice today as we step into our day.

  • Revelation 3:20 (NIV): “Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.”
  • Joshua 24:15 (NIV): “But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve… But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.”
  • John 1:12 (NIV): “Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.”
  • Romans 10:9 (NIV): “If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”
  • Matthew 16:24 (NIV): “Then Jesus said to his disciples, ‘Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.'”

So, let’s not go it alone today but in companionship with God! Let’s choose to walk it out with God and invite Jesus into every moment to be the Lord of all of our lives.

Divine Companionship through Jesus:

THEREFORE THE LORD HIMSELF
WILL GIVE YOU A SIGN:
THE VIRGIN WILL CONCEIVE
AND GIVE BIRTH TO A SON,
AND WILL CALL HIM
IMMANUEL

Isaiah 7:14

Today’s Verse of the Day:

Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Listen carefully, the virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and she will call his name Immanuel (God with us).

Isaiah 7:14 AMP

Firstly, let’s be the dads who have received the sign and are choosing to answer the call to be the dads that our wives and kids need us to be. Additionally, let’s be the dads who are ready, willing, and able to listen carefully to what God has to say in His Word and through His Spirit to lead and guide our words, thoughts, and actions. Therefore, let’s be the dads who choose to stop trying to be independent and selfish and instead choose to receive Jesus into our lives as Immanuel, God with us!

How can we put today’s verse of the day into practice and help us with not only divine companionship with God but also with our wives and kids to meet their needs? What can we take from it to help us to live up to the calling of dads that will glorify God?
