Do you remember the beginning when you became a dad?

To you was the beginning when you met your wife? Was the beginning when you married your wife? Do you think of the beginning of that intimate moment with her? Was the beginning when you got the message she was pregnant? Did the beginning of being a dad happen the day your child was born? So as of that day, have you been or developed to become the dad God created, planned, and purposed for you to be? Are you needing to start living up to that calling today?

Today’s Verse of the Day:

Just as Jesus was at the beginning, you were a dad from the moment that child was being formed in its mother’s womb. Just as Jesus was with God, the moment you found out from your wife she was pregnant, you were a dad with her as a mom. So today, let’s be the dads our wives, kids, and the world need us to be!

So how can we apply today’s verse of the day to the beginning and our calling to step up and be the dads our wives, kids, and world needs us to be along with who God created and purposed for us to be?

Applications of John 1:1 towards our understanding of the beginning when we became dads and how to use it to become the dads God created and purposed and planned for us to be:

• Embrace God’s presence: Like the Word was with God, we must recognize that God is with us in our journey as fathers. Rely on His wisdom and strength.
• Prioritize relationship: Just as the Word was with God, prioritize building a deep relationship with your family. Spend quality time with your spouse and children.
• Lead with love: Just as the Word was God, let love be the foundation of your leadership as a dad. Show love, grace, and compassion to your family.
• Model godly character: Just as the Word was God, strive to emulate God’s character in your actions and decisions. Be a role model for your children.
• Nurture spiritual growth: John 1:1 emphasizes the eternal nature of God. As dads, we should cultivate our family’s spiritual growth and impart lasting values.
• Communicate effectively: The Word was a means of communication. As fathers, we need to be effective communicators, listening and speaking with love and clarity.
• Protect and provide: Just as God’s Word provides and protects, be a provider and protector for your family’s physical and emotional needs.
• Teach and guide: Just as the Word brings guidance, be actively involved in teaching and guiding your children through life’s challenges.
• Foster unity: The oneness between the Word and God signifies unity. As dads, work to foster unity and harmony within your family.
• Be a source of truth: The Word represents truth. As fathers, be honest and trustworthy, leading your family with integrity and truthfulness.

By applying these principles from John 1:1, we can better understand our role as dads from the very beginning, and fulfill the purpose God has designed for us in our families and the world.
