Seeing problems in front of you? Facing challenges? What do we need to do? Is it painful? Is it challenging? What are you going to do about it? How are you going to address the situation? Will you allow healing to come in? Press into the completion even if the healing process hurts. Will you trust God and pursue His instructions to move forward?
Firstly, let’s be the dads who look to live our lives in ways that nurture and bring healing into our marriages! Secondly, let’s be the dads who choose to live our lives in ways that enable and bring healing to our kids! Finally, let’s be the dads who lean in and trust God so much that it brings healing into the world around us!
Today’s Verse of the Day:
What’s more, God shares direction to answer the question of what do we need to do
For example, we need to be God’s people who seek Him and build a relationship with Him! Therefore, we need to be God’s people called by His name! As a result, let’s be the dads who humble ourselves before God! Furthermore, let’s be the dads who choose to pray and seek God’s face out of a craving heart and a feeling of necessity! Similarly, we need to turn from our wicked ways and turn back to God!
Finally, God promises us that if “My people, who are called by My Name, humble themselves, and pray and seek (crave, require as a necessity) My face and turn from their wicked ways” that He “will hear [them] from heaven, and forgive their sin and heal their land”!
So how can we apply today’s verse of the day and step up to be the dads God created, purposed, and planned for us to be for the sake of our wives, kids, and world?
Applications of 2 Chronicles 7:14 towards becoming the dads God created, purposed, and planned for us to be for the sake of our wives, kids, and world:
- Humility: Recognize our need for God’s guidance and wisdom as fathers, acknowledging that we are not perfect and can make mistakes.
- Repentance: Regularly examine our hearts and actions, asking God for forgiveness and turning away from any sinful behavior or attitudes that may negatively affect our families.
- Prayer: Cultivate a consistent and fervent prayer life, interceding for our wives, children, and the world, seeking God’s intervention and guidance in their lives.
- Seek God’s face: Prioritize our relationship with God above all else, seeking His will and direction in our role as fathers. Spend time in His presence, meditating on His Word, and seeking His guidance.
- Teach God’s Word: Make it a priority to teach our children about God’s Word, its values, and principles. Lead by example, living out our faith in front of them, and instill in them a love for God and His truth.
- Foster a love for righteousness: Encourage our children to pursue righteousness and godliness in all areas of their lives. Teach them the importance of making morally upright choices and living with integrity.
- Model forgiveness and reconciliation: Show our children the power of forgiveness and reconciliation by forgiving them when they make mistakes and reconciling any conflicts that arise within the family.
- Take responsibility: Accept responsibility for our actions and decisions as fathers. Take the initiative to lead, provide, protect, and nurture our families, following the example of Christ as the head of the household.
- Cultivate a heart of compassion: Show compassion and empathy towards our wives, children, and others around us. Be sensitive to their needs, offering support, encouragement, and love.
- Be agents of change: Engage actively in making a positive impact in the world. Teach our children about compassion, justice, and the importance of serving others. Equip them to be world-changers and to follow God’s calling in their lives.
By applying these principles, we can strive to become the dads God purposed and planned us to be, creating a loving and nurturing environment for our wives and children and positively influencing our world.
