Firstly, we must be an example for our wives, kids, and the world of God’s will. Therefore, let’s be the dads who demonstrate and model how giving is better than receiving by living generously. Finally, today let’s work hard at helping the weak and needy in order that God will receive the praise, honor, and glory in Jesus’ name.

Demonstrating generosity by giving by being a living example!

Example scriptures from God’s Word:

‘The generous man [is a source of blessing and] shall be prosperous and enriched, And he who waters will himself be watered [reaping the generosity he has sown]. ‘

Proverbs 11:25

‘“But who am I, and who are my people, that we should be able to offer as generously as this? For all things come from You, and from Your own hand we have given to You. ‘

1 Chronicles 29:14

‘Instruct them to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous, willing to share [with others]. ‘

1 Timothy 6:18

‘Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above; it comes down from the Father of lights [the Creator and Sustainer of the heavens], in whom there is no variation [no rising or setting] or shadow cast by His turning [for He is perfect and never changes]. ‘

James 1:17

Provide an example of where your help comes from

‘Now He who provides seed for the sower and bread for food will provide and multiply your seed for sowing [that is, your resources] and increase the harvest of your righteousness [which shows itself in active goodness, kindness, and love]. You will be enriched in every way so that you may be generous, and this [generosity, administered] through us is producing thanksgiving to God [from those who benefit]. For the ministry of this service (offering) is not only supplying the needs of the saints (God’s people), but is also overflowing through many expressions of thanksgiving to God. Because of this act of ministry, they will glorify God for your obedience to the gospel of Christ which you confess, as well as for your generous participation [in this gift] for them and for all [the other believers in need], and they also long for you while they pray on your behalf, because of the surpassing measure of God’s grace [His undeserved favor, mercy, and blessing which is revealed] in you. ‘

2 Corinthians 9:10-14

Today’s Verse of the Day:

In everything I showed you [by example] that by working hard in this way you must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He Himself said, ‘It is more blessed [and brings greater joy] to give than to receive.’ ”

Acts 20:35 AMP

Firstly, let’s be the dads who in everything we show our wives, kids, and the world by example by working hard to help and be generous! Secondly, let’s be the dads who look for opportunities to help the weak and those in need! Finally, let’s be the dads who reflect upon God’s Word and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He Himself said, ‘It is more blessed [and brings greater joy] to give than to receive.’

So how can we apply today’s verse of the day to live by example and be the dads our wives, kids, and world need us to be?

Applying Acts 20:35 towards being and becoming the dads God created, purposed, and planned for us to be for our wives, kids, and world:

Practice Generosity:

Firstly, Apply Acts 20:35 and 2 Corinthians 9:10-14 by cultivating a spirit of giving and generosity. Teach your children the value of sharing and helping others in need.

Be a Blessing:

For example, Embody Proverbs 11:25 by seeking opportunities to bless others with your words, actions, and resources. Look for ways to encourage, uplift, and support your family and those around you.

Lead by Example:

Take the lead in living out the principles of 1 Chronicles 29:14 and James 1:17. Demonstrate integrity, honesty, and humility in your daily life, showing your children what it means to walk in godly character.

Provide for Your Family:

Therefore, Reflect 1 Timothy 6:18 by being diligent in your work and providing for your family’s needs. Be responsible and dependable, ensuring the physical and emotional well-being of your wife and children.

Be a Listener:

Furthermore, Actively listen to your wife and children, giving them your full attention and showing empathy. Practice James 1:19 by being quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to anger, creating an atmosphere of open communication in your family.

Teach Wisdom:

Similarly, Share the principles of wisdom found in Proverbs with your children. Guide them in making wise choices, teaching them the fear of the Lord, and helping them develop a strong moral compass.

Cultivate Gratitude:

As a result, Model gratitude as mentioned in 1 Chronicles 29:14 and James 1:17. Teach your family to be thankful for God’s blessings and to appreciate the simple joys of life. Encourage them to count their blessings and express gratitude daily.

Be Patient and Kind:

For example, Practice the virtues of patience and kindness from 1 Corinthians 13:4-7. Demonstrate love, gentleness, and understanding toward your spouse and children, creating an environment of love and acceptance.

Prioritize Quality Time:

Nevertheless, Allocate dedicated time to connect with your family. Engage in meaningful activities together, such as family meals, outings, and conversations. Show them that they are a priority in your life.

Pray and Seek God:

Finally, Incorporate regular prayer and seek God’s guidance in your role as a father. Ask for wisdom, strength, and discernment to fulfill your responsibilities and be the dad that God has planned for you to be.
