As we begin today, are you steadfast? Are you resolute or dutifully firm and unwavering? Do you recognize the benefits of being resolutely or dutifully firm and unwavering for the right reasons and in the right manner? Be steadfast by placing your trust in God!
Moreover, what can we learn reading from God’s Word about it:
- ‘You know we call those blessed [happy, spiritually prosperous, favored by God] who were steadfast and endured [difficult circumstances]. You have heard of the patient endurance of Job and you have seen the Lord’s outcome [how He richly blessed Job]. The Lord is full of compassion and is merciful. ‘
James 5:11 - ‘Blessed [happy, spiritually prosperous, favored by God] is the man who is steadfast under trial and perseveres when tempted; for when he has passed the test and been approved, he will receive the [victor’s] crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him. ‘
James 1:12 - ‘Therefore, my beloved brothers and sisters, be steadfast, immovable, always excelling in the work of the Lord [always doing your best and doing more than is needed], being continually aware that your labor [even to the point of exhaustion] in the Lord is not futile nor wasted [it is never without purpose].’
1 Corinthians 15:58 - ‘Therefore, [let me warn you] beloved, knowing these things beforehand, be on your guard so that you are not carried away by the error of unprincipled men [who distort doctrine] and fall from your own steadfastness [of mind, knowledge, truth, and faith], but grow [spiritually mature] in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be glory (honor, majesty, splendor), both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.’
2 Peter 3:17-18 - ‘For this reason, since the day we heard about it, we have not stopped praying for you, asking [specifically] that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom [with insight into His purposes], and in understanding [of spiritual things], so that you will walk in a manner worthy of the Lord [displaying admirable character, moral courage, and personal integrity], to [fully] please Him in all things, bearing fruit in every good work and steadily growing in the knowledge of God [with deeper faith, clearer insight and fervent love for His precepts]; [we pray that you may be] strengthened and invigorated with all power, according to His glorious might, to attain every kind of endurance and patience with joy; giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints (God’s people) in the Light. ‘
Colossians 1:9-12
Firstly, let’s choose to be steadfast dads in the grace and knowledge of God! Secondly, let’s actively pursue growth in our understanding of God as dads! Thirdly, let’s persevere under trials as steadfast dads in the Lord, pushing through tests and seeking His approval! Finally, let’s demonstrate steadfastness as patient dads who endure.
Today’s Verse of the Day about being Steadfast:
You will keep in perfect and constant peace the one whose mind is steadfast [that is, committed and focused on You—in both inclination and character], Because he trusts and takes refuge in You [with hope and confident expectation].
Isaiah 26:3 AMP
For example, let’s be the dads who trust God and look to keep in perfect and constant peace! Furthermore, let’s be the dads who take captive every thought and make them submit to Jesus so as to be able to live our lives committed and focused on God in both inclination and character! Finally, let’s be the dads who trust God and take refuge in Him with hope and confident expectations!
So what can we do today to be the dads God created, planned, and purposed for us to be? How can we grab a hold of being steadfast in the Lord so as to be the dads our wives, kids, and world need us to be? What can we learn from today’s verse of the day?
Applications of Isaiah 26:3 to being steadfast and helping us to step up and be the dads:
- Trust in God’s Promises: Develop unwavering trust in God and His promises. This trust will bring peace to your heart and mind, enabling you to lead your family with confidence and conviction.
- Cultivate a Steadfast Mindset: Train your mind to remain focused and unwavering, rooted in the principles of love, faith, and righteousness. This steadfast mindset will help you navigate challenges and make wise decisions for your family.
- Prioritize Prayer: Regularly seek God’s guidance and wisdom through prayer. Involve your family in prayer and teach them the importance of relying on God in all circumstances.
- Practice Patience: Embrace patience as a core virtue in your role as a father. Patience allows you to respond to your family’s needs calmly and graciously, fostering an atmosphere of love and understanding.
- Lead by Example: Live a life of integrity and demonstrate a godly character to your family. Be a role model for your children, showing them what it means to trust in God and live out His teachings.
- Nurture Open Communication: Foster an environment of open communication within your family. Encourage your spouse and children to share their thoughts, fears, and dreams, and listen attentively to them without judgment.
- Display Unconditional Love: Embrace and express unconditional love for your family members. Show them love, acceptance, and forgiveness, just as God demonstrates His love for us.
- Provide Emotional Support: Be emotionally available and supportive to your spouse and children. Offer encouragement, empathy, and understanding, creating a safe space for them to express their emotions and concerns.
- Establish Boundaries: Set healthy boundaries to maintain balance and order in your family life. Boundaries help create a sense of security and ensure that everyone’s needs are respected.
- Seek Growth and Wisdom: Continually pursue personal growth and spiritual maturity. Engage in the study, seek wise counsel, and invest in your own development, so you can lead your family with wisdom and discernment.
