Forgiving: It’s the way to be kind and compassionate

Forgiveness is such an essential part of life. We are to be kind and compassionate to one another by forgiving each other! Not because we are so good or have it all figured out but because Jesus forgave us and reconciled us back to God!

It’s interesting to me when God puts the theme of forgiveness into my heart. It happened and I even looked at a video before I went to bed.

The power of forgiveness

So as we are about to jump to our verse of the day, is there anyone you need to forgive? Is there any bitterness or anger you have allowed to take root in your heart that you can pull out with the act of forgiveness? Could today be your day of transformation? Remember it’s not about their response or reconciliation even and yet it could be the beginning of a relationship transformation you would never have been available or open to had you not taken the step to forgive them.

Today’s Verse of the Day:

Be kind and helpful to one another, tender-hearted [compassionate, understanding], forgiving one another [readily and freely], just as God in Christ also forgave you.

Ephesians 4:32 AMP

Firstly, let’s be the dads who are kind and helpful to one another! Secondly, let’s be the dads who are tender-hearted, compassionate, and understanding to one another! Finally, let’s be the dads who are forgiving one another, not reluctantly but rather readily and freely, breaking the chains of bitterness, anger, and depression by following the example of Jesus who sacrificed and gave it all so that we can be forgiven by God!

So what can we do to be the dads who apply today’s verse of the day in our lives towards our wives, kids, and world?

Let’s be forgiving one another as we put today’s verse of the day into practice:

  • Be kind: Practice kindness with your family, colleagues, friends, and even strangers. Offer to help, show concern, and be generous.
  • Be helpful: Look for opportunities to assist your family, neighbors, and community. Lend a hand when someone needs it and be available to those in need.
  • Be tender-hearted: Show compassion, empathy, and understanding towards others. Be sensitive to their feelings and needs.
  • Forgive readily and freely: Forgiveness is a powerful act of love. Be quick to forgive others, even when they don’t ask for it or deserve it.
  • Practice patience: Children and adults can sometimes test our patience. Take a deep breath, count to 10, and respond calmly in challenging situations.
  • Communicate effectively: Open communication is key to healthy relationships. Be honest, listen actively, and show respect for others’ opinions.
  • Be present: Spend quality time with your family, be fully engaged, and actively participate in their lives.
  • Set an example: Model the behaviors and values you want your children to adopt. Children learn from what they see and experience.
  • Prioritize family time: Schedule a regular family time and prioritize it. Family dinners, game nights, and outdoor activities are great ways to bond and create memories.
  • Cultivate gratitude: Cultivate an attitude of gratitude and focus on the positive things in life. Express appreciation to those around you and celebrate their accomplishments.
