As 2022 is drawing to a close what better way for us to be reflecting and thinking about how we can be the dads who are dragon slayers! Tomorrow being new year’s eve let’s decide to be dragon slayers by the blood of the lamb and the words of our testimonies! Even as I consider this and reflect upon my other blog is titled from 2005 to Eternity because it began in the book of Revelation and even the message from a men’s service we had that shared this incredible picture or visual with us:
Let’s put on the full armor of God! Let’s take our stand against the devil! Let’s resist the devil because we know then he will flee! Let’s be victorious by the blood of the lamb and the words of our testimonies so that we can slay every and any dragon that is coming up against us!
Scripture from Today’s Devotional:
‘The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. The [wonderful] grace of our Lord Jesus be with you. ‘
Romans 16:20
‘I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace. In the world you have tribulation and distress and suffering, but be courageous [be confident, be undaunted, be filled with joy]; I have overcome the world.” [My conquest is accomplished, My victory abiding.]’
John 16:33
‘In conclusion, be strong in the Lord [draw your strength from Him and be empowered through your union with Him] and in the power of His [boundless] might. Put on the full armor of God [for His precepts are like the splendid armor of a heavily-armed soldier], so that you may be able to [successfully] stand up against all the schemes and the strategies and the deceits of the devil. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood [contending only with physical opponents], but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this [present] darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) places. Therefore, put on the complete armor of God, so that you will be able to [successfully] resist and stand your ground in the evil day [of danger], and having done everything [that the crisis demands], to stand firm [in your place, fully prepared, immovable, victorious]. So stand firm and hold your ground, having tightened the wide band of truth (personal integrity, moral courage) around your waist and having put on the breastplate of righteousness (an upright heart), and having strapped on your feet the gospel of peace in preparation [to face the enemy with firm-footed stability and the readiness produced by the good news]. Above all, lift up the [protective] shield of faith with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. With all prayer and petition pray [with specific requests] at all times [on every occasion and in every season] in the Spirit, and with this in view, stay alert with all perseverance and petition [interceding in prayer] for all God’s people. ‘
Ephesians 6:10-18
Let’s turn to God’s Word as our one offensive weapon, the sword of the Spirit, in order to be able to be dragon slayers! Let’s turn to God’s Word first when we are faced with dragons for wisdom and guidance to give us the instruction and direction we need to accomplish God’s will in and through our lives! Never forgetting that God’s Word will never return void! God’s Word will help cut through the noise and the distraction and get to the core of the matter! Let’s break free from sin and the temptations of the devil and find victory by the blood of the lamb and the words of our testimony.
Let’s be the dads who know and trust that the God of peace will soon crush Satan under our feet! Let’s be the dads who choose to walk in the wonderful grace of our Lord Jesus! Let’s be the dads who study and meditate on God’s Word because we know that in God’s Word is the message of perfect peace! Let’s be the dads who understand that in this world we will have tribulation and distress and suffering, but that we can be courageous, be confident, be undaunted, be filled with joy because we know that Jesus has overcome the world! Let’s be the dads who cling to Jesus because His conquest is accomplished and His victory abiding! Let’s be the dads who lift up the protective shield of faith with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one! Let’s be the dads who

Takeaways from Today’s Devotional:
“Final Words About Slaying Dragons“
- Let’s be the dads who remember and choose to walk out our lives with Jesus who we know is the greatest dragon slayer!
- Let’s be the dads who turn to God’s Word when we are faced with struggles and challenges for reminders of God’s love and His overcoming abilities!
- Let’s be the dads who learn from God and can walk out our lives victoriously because Jesus is teaching us to fight and backing us up at every turn!
- Let’s be the dads who have read all of God’s Word and so know and can throw it back in the devil’s face when he tries to knock us down that Jesus “will deal the fatal blow to the dragon and crush Satan under His feet (see Romans 16:20)“!
- Today’s devotional shares with us from the scripture:
- Let’s be the dads who take away from God’s Word: “it is important that you are plugged into a spiritual community. We need the support, accountability, and love of the body of Christ. We need to be submitted in love to our spiritual family and be loyal to them.“
- Let’s be the dads who also take away from God’s Word to “make sure we are looking out for our brothers and sisters in Christ the way we want them to look out for us. Fight for our spiritual family. Be loyal to them. Be generous, be kind, be patient, and above all be loving.“
- Let’s be the dads who lean in and trust God so that He can direct our path!
- Let’s be the dads who in spite of the trials and tribulations we are able to consider it all pure joy!
- Let’s be the dads who can take heart when we face struggles and difficulties in life because we know that Jesus has overcome the world!
- Today’s devotional closes out with the following thought and additional reference link:
- “Life is difficult, and we know that in this world we will have trouble— Jesus assured us of it. But He also told us we can be of good cheer because He has already overcome the world (John 16:33). Sometimes you will be wounded. You might even lose battles from time to time. That is the nature of war. But the prize goes not to the one who fights perfectly but to the one who keeps fighting.“
- “Be the one who gets back up. Be the one who endures to the end.“
- “Was this plan helpful to you? It was adapted from my book Slaying Dragons: A Practical Guide to Spiritual Warfare .”
