Scripture from Today’s Devotional

‘Is anyone among you suffering? He must pray. Is anyone joyful? He is to sing praises [to God]. Is anyone among you sick? He must call for the elders (spiritual leaders) of the church and they are to pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; and the prayer of faith will restore the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up; and if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. Therefore, confess your sins to one another [your false steps, your offenses], and pray for one another, that you may be healed and restored. The heartfelt and persistent prayer of a righteous man (believer) is able to accomplish much [when put into action and made effective by God—it is dynamic and can have tremendous power]. ‘

James 5:13-16

Let’s make sure we get started with our one offensive weapon, the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God! For us to overcome the dragons, we need the blood of Jesus (the blood of the Lamb) and the word of our testimonies!

Let’s be the dads who pray! Let’s be the dads who pray for those who are suffering! Let’s be the dads who praise! Let’s be the dads who are praising because we are joyful! Let’s be the dads who are willing to call the elders when there is a sickness! Let’s be the dads who know it is important to call the elders to pray because the prayer of faith will restore the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up! Let’s be the dads who turn to God and ask for forgiveness when we have sinned because we know that He will forgive us! Let’s be the dads who confess our sins, our false steps, and our offenses to one another! Let’s be the dads who pray for one another that we may be healed and restored! Let’s be the dads who believe in Jesus and as such have heartfelt and persistent prayers because we know that the heartfelt and persistent prayer of a believer (righteous man) is able to accomplish much when put into action and made effective by God—it is dynamic and can have tremendous power!
