As I begin this day’s devotional I am so thankful and with tomorrow being Thanksgiving it causes me to reflect upon so many things that I am thankful for, from family to friends to church to work and most of all to God who opened my eyes to His reality so many years back and allowed me to grasp the fullness of getting to walk in relationship with Jesus! The reality of going from knowing about Jesus to living in a relationship with Him has transformed my life ever since! So now my hope and trust are in Him so that I can stop being worried and anxious! I can stop being perpetually uneasy, distracted by the things of life! I know and am thankful that He is my provider, that the earth and everything in it are His, including me and so I don’t need to worry, to be anxious, to be uneasy, and even be distracted by the lies and tempatations of this world that try to make me feel less than enough or needing or wanting more. The secret is contentment which Paul shares in Philippians 4 that allows us no matter what we are facing to know “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me“!
Today’s devotional shares the following description with us:
Some reflections about my journey, and rediscovery of the love of our Heavenly Father, since becoming a dad to my now 4 year old daughter, Amelie Snow. I pray it blesses you.BECOMING A GODLY FATHER
Scripture from Today’s Devotional:
God’s Word is a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path! Instead of worrying or becoming anxious, let’s turn to God’s Word and be encouraged by it’s ability to never return void and cut through the noise and the crust to get to the point and the core of things! Let’s choose to start with God’s Word rather than it being our last thing!
Let’s be the dads who stop being worried and anxious by life! Let’s be the dads who stop being perpetually uneasy and distracted by life! Let’s be the dads who stop being worried and anxious by what we will eat or what we will drink! Let’s be the dads who stop being perpetually uneasy and distracted by what we will eat or what we will drink! Let’s be the dads who stop being worried and anxious by our body and what we will wear! Let’s be the dads who stop being perpetually uneasy and distracted by our body and what we will wear! Let’s be the dads who remember that life is more than food, and the body is more than clothing! Let’s be the dads who are confident and content because we know we can trust God from the evidence we see in nature and how the birds of the air; they neither sow seed nor reap the harvest nor gather the crops into barns, and yet our heavenly Father keeps feeding them! Let’s be the dads who are confident and content because we trust God knowing the value and price He has placed on us to the point of sending His one and only Son, that whosoever would believe on Him would not perish and have everlasting life! God so loves us that He gave Jesus as the sacrifice to pay for our sins! So let’s be the dads who don’t waste time or energy by worrying which won’t produce anything of value or even change anything!
