When you aren’t sure what to do, put your eyes on Jesus. When you are shocked by something, turn your eyes to Jesus. When you are surprised by something, turn your eyes to Jesus. When you don’t know what to do, turn your eyes to Jesus!
Scripture for Today’s Devotional:
God’s Word knows what you are going through, where you’ve been, and what good things are yet to come. God’s Word is active and alive and can speak right into your situation if you will pause and turn to it in the moment of uncertainty. God’s Word is active and alive and can speak right into your situation if you will pause and turn to it in the moment when you are questioning and unsure. So let’s start our day, no matter what happens with God and in God’s Word! He will never leave us nor abandon us! We are never alone even when we feel like we are all by ourselves.
Let’s be the dads walking carefully, living life with honor, purpose, and courage, and shunning those who tolerate and enable evil! Let’s be the dads walking wisely being sensible, intelligent, discerning people! Let’s be the dads who are making the very most of our time on earth, recognizing and taking advantage of each opportunity and using it with wisdom and diligence! Let’s be the dads who know and realize that the days are filled with evil and so choose to not be foolish and thoughtless! Let’s be the dads who know and realize that the days are filled with evil and so choose to understand and firmly grasp what the will of the Lord is!

Takeaways from Today’s Devotional:
“Make the most of every opportunity!”
- Is something rubbing you the wrong way? Are you doing something about it or just putting up with it?
- Today’s devotional kicks off with a great example to consider as we start today:
- Let’s be the dads who are ready and willing to be proactive and make the most of every opportunity!
- Let’s be the dads who “in the moment of annoyance or frustration” consider the options and choose “the option that will bring lasting peace“!
- Let’s be the dads who choose the do something rather than go the lazy way!
- Today’s devotional points to Paul’s instruction to the church at Ephesus when it says:
- Today’s devotional takes us back to the pebble in our shoe example when it shares how “Like the pebble, why would we keep sin lingering around when we can just get rid of it, why do we hold the pebble so close when it is an annoyance and keeps us from walking in fullness?“
- Let’s be the dads who make the most of our today!
- Yesterday is gone and tomorrow isn’t guaranteed, so let’s make the most of what we have today!
- Let’s be the dads who make the most of our decisions!
- Let’s be the dads who make the most of every chance we get to discern!
- Let’s be the dads who make the most of each decision, situation, and moment because we know that “many times there are no second chances in major decisions we make“!
- Today’s devotional closes with this thought and a challenge to reflect upon:
- “How can we know the Lord’s will? Well, the Bible says we can. This takes discernment as well through the reading of the Word and the revelation of the Holy Spirit. We know God’s will for humanity, but we can also know His will specifically for our life. We have general revelation in the Bible as a foundation for our discernment, and the Holy Spirit can provide specific revelation to us as He sees fit.“
- “Reflect: What figurative pebble (annoyance or hindrance) do I need to remove from my life that I have been too lazy to remove? Pray about it and ask God for discernment on your next steps.“
