When we keep our eyes on Jesus, we see how big He is compared to the storms, the trials, and the troubles that come our way. When we keep our eyes on Jesus, we see how He is greater than anything the devil can throw at us. So let’s be the dads who resist and reject the devil and his plans to steal, kill, and destroy us and choose to receive from Jesus by keeping our eyes on Him so that we can have a life that is full and overflowing into our wives, kids, and the world around us!
Scripture from Today’s Devotional:
God’s Word never returns void and so let’s be the dads who choose to dig into it daily! God’s Word is sharper than a double-edged sword, so let’s be the dads who choose to pick it up daily and use it for the glory of God by choosing to live our lives to the full! Let’s be the dads who meditate and chew on God’s Word so that we can become spiritually mature! Let’s be the dads who spend time reading, studying, and understanding God’s Word so that we have our senses trained to distinguish between what is morally good and what is evil!

Takeaways from Today’s Devotional:
“Let’s not get stuck as babies but mature into what God has purposed”
- Let’s be the dads who raise our kids, equipping them for what life is going to be like!
- Let’s be the dads who raise our kids, maturing them to be able to live life God’s way, to the full!
- Let’s be the dads who raise our kids, training them so they will be ready, willing, and able to finish the good works God has prepared in advance for them to accomplish!
- Today’s devotional points to Paul’s message on spiritually maturing, using the comparison to milk vs solid foods.
- God’s Word reads as follows: ‘There is much more we would like to say about this, but it is difficult to explain, especially since you are spiritually dull and don’t seem to listen. You have been believers so long now that you ought to be teaching others. Instead, you need someone to teach you again the basic things about God’s word. You are like babies who need milk and cannot eat solid food. For someone who lives on milk is still an infant and doesn’t know how to do what is right. Solid food is for those who are mature, who through training have the skill to recognize the difference between right and wrong.’ Hebrews 5:11-14
- “Just as one would expect a child to mature over time, so Christians should be maturing over the years after salvation. If you look back ten years into your Christian walk, you should see a maturing in the decisions you are making, the resistance to sin, a more abundant prayer life, daily reading of the Word of God, etc.“
- Let’s be the dads who continue to mature in the faith, as examples to our wives, kids, and world that it’s a lifelong journey and exercise!
- Let’s be the dads who press on and never stop pressing into God’s Word and maturing so that when we get to the end of this journey we will hear from God, “well done, good and faithful servant”!
- Let’s be the dads who take hold of what Hebrews tells us when it says: “because of practice” you can train to discern between good and evil.
- Let’s be the dads who continue to practice and grab hold of the truth today’s devotional provides when it says: “Practice makes perfect but practice also allows for failure.“
- Just like most things in life, the more we practice the better we get. Today’s devotional shares the analogy of throwing basketball shots and shares: “If you shoot a hundred shots, you may miss half of them. But over time, maybe you miss 40, then 30, then 20, etc. Even professional players will not make all 100 shots. “
