As we head into this day, let’s focus on today, let’s be present with our wives, our kids, and everyone else we will be with today. Let’s focus on them and hear them rather than listening to respond, let’s listen to them in order to understand. Let’s keep our eyes on Jesus and allow the Holy Spirit to help us with responding and answering and put our focus on being present, listening, and understanding.
Scripture from Today’s Devotional:
God’s Word speaks to us right where we are at. God’s Word is active and alive! God’s Word even though we may have read that chapter or that verse many times is able to speak to us today something we missed before. Let’s make time to and take time to hear from God through His Word!
Let’s be the dads who love our wives, our kids, and those that God brings across our paths. Let’s be the dads who spend time with Jesus in order to be filled with the fountain of life and then are able to overflow love into the lives of others! Let’s be the dads who radiate and outpour love into the lives of our wives, our kids, and our world! Let’s be the dads who share what love really is from what we have learned in and through God and His Word! Let’s be the dads who share what love really is in a practical way so that our wives, our kids, and our world know that we do love them! Let’s be the dads who are looking, listening, and praying so that we can recognize and treasure what is excellent, by being able to identify what is best and distinguish between moral differences! Let’s be the dads who meditate on God’s Word, lean in on and draw closer to God so that we can become more and more like Jesus and become pure and blameless until the day of His return! Let’s be the dads who live our lives in ways that draw people away from sin and towards God!

Takeaways from Today’s Devotional:
“Making good decisions by making decisions out of love!”
- Ever heard that “hindsight is 20/20“?
- In 2020, that was my theme for the year on my From2005ToEternity blog was Hindsight is 2020!
- Ever made a poor decision? Ever had a lapse in judgment? Ever gotten to the other side of the decision and seen the results be filled with regret?
- Hindsight is 20/20 “because we see back at the past with perfect clarity of what we did wrong or what we did right“!
- Ever wished you could go back and stop yourself from making one or more of those decisions?
- Today’s devotional makes a deep thought on this topic when it says: “we need bad decisions to know what good decisions look like“.
- Let’s be the dads who learn from our mistakes!
- Let’s be the dads who learn rather than repeat our mistakes!
- Let’s be the dads who learn and have discernment in decisions we will make today based on our experiences of the past in hopes of making good and better decisions!
- Let’s be the dads who grow with every decision we have to make, remembering our lessons learned so as to make better and better decisions through the discernment of the Holy Spirit each time!
- Today’s devotional points us to the omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent God when it says:
- With the thoughts of decisions and trying to make better ones, wondering how that relates to the verse for today.
- Today’s devotional points to what Paul was saying and how it applies to today:
- Let’s be the dads who can learn lessons from others rather than having to go through all of them ourselves!
- Let’s be the dads who can learn lessons from God’s Word rather than having to go through all of them ourselves!
- Today’s devotional closes with the following thought and challenge to reflect upon:
- “But this verse as it relates to discernment is remarkably interesting because as we love and grow in knowledge, we will be able to discern clearly. How is love and discernment related? To make this clearer, think about the other extreme—what good decisions did you make that were done in hate? Probably not many, if any.“
- “Reflect: How do I show the love of Christ to others during my daily routines? How can I make decisions through the lens of God’s love for me?“
