Today we continue into this day 3 of this 5-day devotional. Let’s lean in to see what we can grasp and learn to help us be the dads God created, purposed, and plans for us to be for our wives, kids, and the world around us!
The Bible App describes the devotional as follows: “A plan for those on a journey to become better, not bitter.“
Scripture for Today’s Devotional:
‘Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” ‘
Deuteronomy 31:6
God has a Word for us! God’s Word never returns void! God’s Word is active and alive! God’s Word is sharper than a double-edged sword and able to cut to the core of the matter! Let’s make sure we make time to hear from God every day and throughout each day!
Let’s be the dads who receive God’s Word: ” ‘For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline. ‘ 2 Timothy 1:7“! Let’s be the dads who choose to reject the fear the devil is trying to cause in our lives while he is roaming around roaring!
‘Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings. And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast. ‘
1 Peter 5:6-10
So let’s be the dads who are bold and courageous! Let’s be the dads who reject the lies, reject the threats, reject the attacks and grab hold of God’s Word so that we can live our lives not afraid and not terrified because of them but instead leaning in and trusting in God! Let’s be the dads who know we aren’t supposed to go it alone and that we aren’t going it alone but rather that God is with us, never leaving us and never abandoning us! Let’s be the dads who trust God and so invite Him to come with us everywhere we go! Let’s be the dads who receive the truth that God will never leave us and never forsake us! Let’s be the dads who live lives in relationship with Him, allowing the Holy Spirit to lead and guide us, instruct and correct us, and teach us in all things!
