Let’s keep our focus on God today because He is greater than everything and anything that we will have to face. Today we should be casing our cares upon Him rather than trying to carry them around with us or focusing on them which causes them to seem bigger than they are. To help us do that, let’s first trust God for His Word doesn’t tell us to understand but rather to trust.

Let’s consider any worries a sign that we need to be praying about that area, lifting it up to God, and casting it on Him. We don’t have to worry about if others will abandon us because God is greater and will never leave us nor abandon us. Wait on God, don’t worry about the time, choose to lean in and trust God’s timing because you know it is better than your own. So today as we lean in and believe that God is greater, let’s trust His plan because we know that God knows what’s best for us.

Focus on Trusting Unreservedly in God’s Wisdom

In a world filled with uncertainties and challenges, the title “God is greater than everything, so focus on Him!” serves as a poignant reminder for believers to anchor their lives in the unwavering strength of the Almighty. Proverbs 3:5-6 encourages us to “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.” This verse underscores the importance of unwavering trust in God’s wisdom and guidance.

Philippians 4:6-7 further reinforces the call to focus on God amid life’s trials. “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” By turning our worries into prayers and trusting God with our concerns, we invite His peace to reign in our hearts, surpassing human comprehension.

Assured in God’s Ever-Present Faithfulness

Hebrews 13:5 assures believers that God’s presence is constant, transcending the fear of abandonment. “Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, ‘I will never leave you nor forsake you.'” Embracing this promise allows us to shift our focus from earthly concerns to the enduring presence of God.

Focus on Surrendering to God’s Higher Perspective

Isaiah 55:8-9 reminds us of the vast difference between God’s thoughts and ours: “‘For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,’ declares the Lord. ‘For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.'” This encourages us to surrender our understanding and align our focus with God’s higher perspective.

Focus on Embracing Hope in God’s Perfect Plan

Jeremiah 29:11 assures believers of God’s plans for their future: “‘For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.'” Focusing on God involves trusting in His divine plan, even when circumstances seem uncertain, knowing that His intentions are ultimately for our welfare.

Focus on God!

In conclusion, as we face the challenges of life, let us fix our gaze on God, trusting in His wisdom, turning worries into prayers, and finding peace in His constant presence. By understanding and applying these timeless truths from Scripture, we can navigate life with confidence, knowing that God is indeed greater than everything we encounter.

This year, I am utilizing the 365 Daily Devotions book I received for Christmas, applying its teachings specifically in the context of fatherhood. It’s called WALKING WITH GOD by DAVID JEREMIAH. It’s exciting to get to learn from a new resource this year as we have tried different options the past two years and will keep working through this one for 2024. Topic: GRACE

Verse: Romans 5:20 (NLT)

God’s law was given so that all people could see how sinful they were. But as people sinned more and more, God’s wonderful grace became more abundant.

Therefore, let’s be the dads who cling to the reality that God is greater and more than enough. Additionally, let’s be the dads who lean into God and pursue His plans and purposes for our lives, living in His promises, so that we can live life to the full. Finally, let’s be the dads who walk in alignment with Jesus who calls us to a higher standard than the law in order that God will receive the praise, the honor, and the glory.

Today’s Devotional speaks to trusting God and the gift of grace we have available through Jesus. It tells the story of preacher and writer John Bunyan. It shares about how powerful his conversion was and its impact on Him preaching the Good News of Jesus even though the Anglican church had him arrested and imprisoned for preaching without a license. Today’s Devotional shares how they offered to let him out if he promised to stop preaching which he said no to and ended up in prison for more than 12 years. He was able to use that time to write “The Pilgrim’s Progress” and “Grace Abounding in the Chief of Sinners“.

Focus on God’s Grace is enough

Today’s Devotional shares how “according to Bunyan, his conversion was ‘a miracle of precious grace’ without which he would have perished by the stroke of eternal justice. It goes on to share how that grace “is God’s favor freely bestowed on us in Christ- God’s Riches At Christ’s Expense (GRACE).”

Let’s be the dads who when sharing our story, our testimony of God’s working in our lives lead with GRACE. How God’s abounding, amazing grace has transformed our lives.
