Is there anything persistent in your life?

Being the persistent dads that our wives, kids, and world need us to be

Firstly, as a son, do you have anything in your life that remains constant, unwavering, and consistent? Secondly, as a husband, what do you do to ensure a marriage that is stable and brings happiness to your wife? Finally, as a father, how do you create a family environment that is unchanging, consistent, and provides security for your children?

Today’s Verse of the Day:

Jesus Christ is [eternally changeless, always] the same yesterday and today and forever.

Hebrews 13:8 AMP

Therefore, we need to be the dads who trust in, lean in and on, and follow after Jesus who is eternally changeless and always the same, yesterday and today and forever!

For example, how can we apply this truth from today’s verse of the day into being the dads God created, purposes, and plans for us to be?

Applications of Hebrews 13:8 into our lives to help us be the persistent dads God created, purposed, and planned for us to be:

  • Consistency in character: What’s more, strive to be consistent in your character, actively displaying the same values, integrity, and love for your family and others, mirroring the unwavering constancy of Jesus.
  • Unwavering love: Equally important, embrace an unwavering, steadfast, and enduring love for your wife, children, and others, reflecting the eternal love of Christ.
  • Faithfulness in relationships: Show faithfulness and commitment to your wife by being present and engaged in your relationship, honoring the vows you made, and demonstrating the constancy of Christ’s love.
  • Steadfast support: Be a reliable pillar of support and encouragement for your family, offering stability, dependability, and unwavering reliability, just as Jesus unwaveringly supports us.
  • Reliability in responsibilities: Take full responsibility for your role as a father, diligently providing for the needs of your family, and consistently fulfilling your duties, thereby modeling the reliability of Christ.
  • Perseverance in challenges: Demonstrate unwavering perseverance in the face of challenges and difficulties, refusing to give up on your family or your responsibilities, and trusting in God’s grace and strength to carry you through, as Jesus persevered on our behalf.
  • Teach and exemplify God’s unchanging truth: Share and teach your children the unchanging truths of God’s Word, helping them understand and appreciate the constancy of God’s love, grace, and principles in their lives.
  • Prayer and reliance on God: Seek God’s guidance, wisdom, and strength through prayer, relying unwaveringly on His unchanging nature to help you fulfill your role as a persistent dad.
  • Modeling grace and forgiveness: Reflect the grace and forgiveness of Christ in your interactions with your family, forgiving them as Christ forgave us and extending grace even in challenging moments.
  • Leaving a lasting legacy: Aim to leave a lasting legacy for your children by instilling in them the values, faith, and love for God that will guide them throughout their lives, echoing the eternal impact of Christ’s teachings.

By applying these principles, we can strive to be the persistent dads that God created, purposed, and planned for us to be, reflecting the unchanging nature of Jesus Christ in our relationships and responsibilities.
