As we start today, let’s recall that God has prepared good works for us in advance. He goes before us. For example, reflect on the fact that God has given us His Word, a love letter with instructions to discern good and evil. Let’s be proactive dads, knowing what is good and choosing to live for God’s glory, benefiting our wives and kids.
What is good?
Love
God calls us to love Him with all our heart, soul, and mind, and to love our neighbors as ourselves.
Righteousness
God desires us to live a life of integrity, honesty, and moral uprightness, treating others with fairness and justice.
Compassion
We are encouraged to show kindness, mercy, and empathy toward others, especially the poor, the oppressed, and the marginalized.
Humility
God values humility and calls us to serve one another with a humble heart, considering others more important than ourselves.
Obedience
God’s Word provides instructions and commandments that, when followed, lead to a life that pleases Him and aligns with His will.
Fruit of the Spirit
Galatians 5:22-23 lists qualities such as love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control as the fruit of the Spirit, which are considered good.
Pursuit of righteousness
God’s Word encourages us to seek righteousness and to pursue a life that reflects His character and honors Him.
