No matter where you are in your life, it is important to know what door you are looking for as there are many doors. Looking for a job? I pray that God will open the door so wide you can’t miss or close it so tight you can’t open it in order that you to find the right job. Looking for answers? Turn to God and start asking, seeking, and knocking for God’s Word tells us

‘ “ Ask and keep on asking and it will be given to you; seek and keep on seeking and you will find; knock and keep on knocking and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who keeps on asking receives, and he who keeps on seeking finds, and to him who keeps on knocking, it will be opened. ‘

Matthew 7:7-8

We have to be searching with the right heart. ‘Now set your heart and your soul to seek (inquire of, require as your vital necessity) the Lord your God. Arise and build the sanctuary of the Lord God, so that you may bring the ark of the covenant of the Lord and the holy articles and utensils of God into the house built for the Name (Presence) of the Lord.”’ 1 Chronicles 22:19

So it is important to understand the door you are looking for!

Doors of freedom?

‘But during the night an angel of the Lord opened the prison doors, and leading them out, he said, “Go, stand and continue to tell the people in the temple [courtyards] the whole message of this Life [the eternal life revealed by Christ and found through faith in Him].” ‘

Acts 5:19-20

Doors of preparedness?

‘ “Then the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins, who took their lamps and went to meet the bridegroom. Five of them were foolish [thoughtless, silly, and careless], and five were wise [far-sighted, practical, and sensible]. For when the foolish took their lamps, they did not take any [extra] oil with them, but the wise took flasks of oil along with their lamps. Now while the bridegroom was delayed, they all began to nod off, and they fell asleep. But at midnight there was a shout, ‘Look! The bridegroom [is coming]! Go out to meet him.’ Then all those virgins got up and put their own lamps in order [trimmed the wicks and added oil and lit them]. But the foolish virgins said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil, because our lamps are going out.’ But the wise replied, ‘No, otherwise there will not be enough for us and for you, too; go instead to the dealers and buy oil for yourselves.’ But while they were going away to buy oil, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding feast; and the door was shut and locked . ‘

Matthew 25:1-10

Doors of breakthroughs?

‘Arriving there, they gathered the church together and began to report [in great detail] everything that God had done with them and how He had opened to the Gentiles a door of faith [in Jesus as the Messiah and Savior]. ‘

Acts 14:27

Today’s Verse of the Day:

‘So Jesus said again, “I assure you and most solemnly say to you, I am the Door for the sheep [leading to life]. ‘

John 10:7

So to get started, let’s make sure we have found and lived behind the ultimate door and within His pasture! Let’s expand on the verse for a bit more context.

‘So Jesus said again, “I assure you and most solemnly say to you, I am the Door for the sheep [leading to life]. All who came before Me [as false messiahs and self-appointed leaders] are thieves and robbers, but the [true] sheep did not hear them. I am the Door; anyone who enters through Me will be saved [and will live forever], and will go in and out [freely], and find pasture (spiritual security). The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life, and have it in abundance [to the full, till it overflows]. ‘

John 10:7-10

Let’s choose the right door so that we can be saved and be with God forever! Today, let’s choose Jesus so that we can receive the gift of abundant, overflowing life! Don’t allow yourself to be tempted through the wrong door and allow the thief to steal, kill, and destroy your hopes and dreams!

So let’s pause to reflect upon today’s verse of the day and consider how to apply it in being the dads that God created us to be.

Doors of opportunity to apply today’s verse of the day as dads:

Seek guidance from God:

As Jesus says in John 10:9, “I am the door. If anyone enters by me, he will be saved and will go in and out and find pasture.” As dads, we should seek guidance from God to help us choose the right doors of opportunity.

Know what you want:

Before you can choose the right doors of opportunity, you need to know what you want to achieve as a dad. Define your goals and what you want to accomplish.

Assess your options:

Evaluate the doors of opportunity that present themselves to you. Consider the risks, benefits, and consequences of each option.

Follow your instincts:

Trust your instincts when making decisions. If something doesn’t feel right, it probably isn’t.

Consult with trusted advisors:

Seek advice from people you trust, such as family members, friends, or mentors. Their perspectives may help you make a more informed decision.

Consider the long-term impact:

Think about the long-term impact of the doors of opportunity you choose. Will they help you achieve your goals or set you back?

Stay true to your values:

Ensure that the doors of opportunity you choose align with your values and beliefs. Don’t compromise your principles for short-term gains.

Embrace uncertainty:

Some doors of opportunity may lead to uncertainty but don’t be afraid to take risks. Stepping out of your comfort zone may help you grow and learn.

Be open-minded:

Be willing to consider doors of opportunity that may not align with your initial expectations. Sometimes the best opportunities are the unexpected ones.

Take action:

Once you have chosen the right doors of opportunity, take action to pursue them. Be persistent and work hard to achieve your goals as a dad.
