There are many quotes about Habits, Character, Destiny…

Consider it at a level deeper. Thoughts produce words. Words become actions. Actions become habits. Habits become character. Character becomes destiny.

For some, they will choose to build their lives near the Word of God and think it is good enough and later discover when the storms come they are standing on shifting sand. For others, they will choose to build their lives on the Word of God because it’s the inspired Word of God that has authority in their lives and later discover when the storms come they are on a firm foundation.

Today’s Verse of the Day:

It comes from Galatians 5 which speaks to us about the importance of walking out our lives by the leading and guiding of the Spirit. To be the dads that God created and God purposed for us to be, walking by the Spirit is so important!

‘But I say, walk habitually in the [Holy] Spirit [seek Him and be responsive to His guidance], and then you will certainly not carry out the desire of the sinful nature [which responds impulsively without regard for God and His precepts]. ‘

Galatians 5:16

Are you ready to be the dads God wants you to be? Are you ready to build your life upon the Word of God? Will you allow God’s Word to lead and guide you in His ways rather than be taken off track by the ways of the world? Let’s meditate on today’s verse of the day and consider how we can apply it to our lives! Let’s choose to be intentional in seeking God! Let’s choose to be committed to seeking God’s will and following the guidance of the Holy Spirit!

Consider these applications of Galatians 5:16 when it comes to being a dad:

  • Prioritize time with God: “In order to walk by the Spirit, a dad needs to be intentional about spending time in prayer and reading the Bible. This will help him align his desires with God’s will, and seek the guidance of the Holy Spirit.”
  • Practice self-control: “A dad can put Galatians 5:16 into practice by intentionally choosing to say no to his fleshly desires. This may include choosing to be patient with his children instead of becoming angry or choosing to speak words of encouragement instead of criticism.”
  • Focus on cultivating the fruit of the Spirit: “The next few verses in Galatians 5 talk about the fruit of the Spirit, which includes love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. A dad can put Galatians 5:16 into practice by intentionally cultivating these fruits in his life and modeling them for his children.”
  • Seek accountability: “A dad can also seek accountability from other Christian men who can encourage him and hold him accountable in his walk with God. This can help him stay on track and grow in his faith.”
  • Cultivate a mindset of gratitude: “A dad can practice gratitude by focusing on the good things in his life and expressing thankfulness to God and to those around him. This can help him maintain a positive attitude and resist the temptation to become bitter or resentful.”
  • Serve others: “A dad can put Galatians 5:16 into practice by looking for opportunities to serve others, both in his family and in his community. Serving others can help him develop humility and a servant’s heart, which are fruits of the Spirit.”
  • Practice forgiveness: “A dad can choose to forgive others, even when it’s difficult. This can help him avoid bitterness and anger, and it can also model forgiveness for his children.”
  • Prioritize rest and self-care: “A dad can practice self-control by intentionally setting aside time for rest and self-care. This can help him avoid burnout and maintain his emotional and physical health.”
  • Seek wisdom: “A dad can seek wisdom from God and from other wise men in his life. This can help him make good decisions and avoid the pitfalls of foolishness and impulsiveness.”
  • Be a peacemaker: “A dad can practice gentleness and peace-making by seeking to resolve conflicts in his family and in his community. This can help him model healthy conflict resolution and promote harmony in his relationships.”
