We are justified through faith, for we are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ! We are reconciled to God and can live at peace with Him thanks to Jesus Christ our Lord!
‘This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun! And all of this is a gift from God, who brought us back to himself through Christ. And God has given us this task of reconciling people to him. For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people’s sins against them. And he gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation. So we are Christ’s ambassadors; God is making his appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, “Come back to God!” For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ.’
2 Corinthians 5:17-21
So today as we begin, let’s be the dads who turn to God in times of crisis and draw our wives, our kids, and all of our family together and toward Jesus! Let’s be the dads who share stories of God showing up and celebrate His faithfulness with our wives and kids in order to point them to Jesus! Let’s be the dads who are sacrificing for God’s sake so that our wives and kids see that Jesus is the center of and for all we do!
Let’s not be the dads who are workaholics and as such live lives that are job-centered and leave the gaping hole in the lives of our wives and kids because we decided not to live Christ-centered lives!
Let’s not be the dads who are focused on collecting stuff and as such live lives that are stuff centered and leave our kids wanting more because Jesus is the only one who can fill that hole!
Let’s be the dads who are Christ-centered so that in the midst of crisis we turn to Jesus and bring our wives and kids along for the journey! Let’s be the dads who are Christ-centered so that in the midst of living life we can celebrate with our wives and kids all that God is and has done in our lives so that nobody forgets how awesome Jesus has been in and through our lives! Let’s be the dads who are Christ-centered so that we are willing to sacrifice for His sake in order to accomplish the good works He has prepared in advance for us to accomplish!
Let’s be the dads who are living for the glory of God rather than being self-centered and missing the mark in the lives of our wives, kids, and this world!
Consider being able to leave a generational legacy and being ready to do something about it.
