Radical Wisdom: A 7-Day Journey For Fathers – Day 4 – Unity

Radical Wisdom For Fathers - 7-day plan - by Regi Campbell

Christmas is coming and we are trying to get everyone together for the holidays. The devil wasn’t to rob, kill, and destroy and yet Jesus came so that we could have life and life more abundantly. So let’s pray for unity! Let’s be the dads who are about bringing the family together! Let’s be the dads who are doing everything in our power to bring the family together, united, and strong!

Let’s reflect before we jump into today’s scripture associated with today’s post how this devotional is described:

It’s crazy how much our dads shape us. No one escapes the power and influence of their earthly father. And since most men feel unprepared to be fathers, it’s essential to seek guidance – from Scripture and from other dads. Radical Wisdom is a journey toward wisdom and insight for fathers, combining principles and wisdom from Scripture with the experience of an older, wiser dad who’s learned from his mistakes.

Scripture from Today’s Devotional:

‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and mind and with all your soul and with all your strength [your entire being]. These words, which I am commanding you today, shall be [written] on your heart and mind. You shall teach them diligently to your children [impressing God’s precepts on their minds and penetrating their hearts with His truths] and shall speak of them when you sit in your house and when you walk on the road and when you lie down and when you get up.’

Deuteronomy 6:5-7

‘and let us consider [thoughtfully] how we may encourage one another to love and to do good deeds, not forsaking our meeting together [as believers for worship and instruction], as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more [faithfully] as you see the day [of Christ’s return] approaching.’

Hebrews 10:24-25

‘“Only pay attention and watch yourselves closely so that you do not forget the things which your eyes have seen and they do not depart from your heart all the days of your life. Make them known to your children and your grandchildren [impressing these things on their mind and penetrating their heart with these truths]—’

Deuteronomy 4:9

‘Be diligent to know the condition of your flocks, And pay attention to your herds;’

Proverbs 27:23

What better way to come together or become more united than by turning to God’s Word? What better way to draw closer to one another than to draw closer to God?  God’s Word will never return voidGod’s Word will help cut through the noise and the distraction and get to the core of the matter!

Let’s be the dads who shall love the Lord your God with all our heart and mind and with all our soul and with all your strength, all of our entire being! Let’s be the dads who receive the words of God’s commands and write them on our hearts and minds! Let’s be the dads who teach them diligently to our kids impressing God’s precepts on their minds and penetrating their hearts with His truths! Let’s be the dads who speak of them when we sit in our houses and when we walk on the road and when we lie down and when we get up! Let’s be the dads who consider thoughtfully how we may encourage one another to love and do good deeds! Let’s be the dads who do not forsake our meeting together as believers for worship and instruction! Let’s be the dads who encourage one another! Let’s be the dads who pay attention and watch yourselves closely so that we do not forget the things which your eyes have seen and they do not depart from our hearts all the days of our lives! Let’s be the dads who make known to kids and grandkids the things which our eyes have seen impressing them on their minds and penetrating their hearts with these truths! Let’s be the dads who are diligent to know the condition of our flocks (families), and pay attention to our herds (extended families)!
