Fallen Heroes: A Devotional for Dads Who Struggle With Porn – Day 2 – So we can be free

Fallen Heroes: A Devotional for Dads who Struggle with Porn

What is true freedom? Ever heard the saying that who the Son sets free is free indeed? Ever wondered what that is about? Ever wondered what you were freed from? Ever considered what you were freed to do? Ever considered the reality that you needed to be freed? Have you ever taken the time to consider what you are freed from? What kind of freedom based on its definition did you receive or did you need or do you need? I did a search and found something for us to ponder before we jump into today’s devotional:

If you look at the Greek, you will discover this word free can mean to liberate or to exempt from liability. That means this verse could read whom the son liberates or exempts from liability will be really liberated and exempted from liability. Because of this definition, when you consider this verse in its full context, there are two conclusions I want you to consider. First, there are things Christ has freed you from. Second, there are things Christ has freed you to.

Have you been set free from The Bondage of Sin – (Your Captivity), The Penalty of Sin – (Your Eternity), or The Guilt and Shame of Sin – (Your Vitality)? Have you been set free to The Freedom to Live – (Your Capacity) or The Freedom to Serve – (Your Activity)?

Scripture for Today’s Devotional:

‘Sing to God, sing in praise of his name, extol him who rides on the clouds ; rejoice before him—his name is the Lord . A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in his holy dwelling. God sets the lonely in families, he leads out the prisoners with singing; but the rebellious live in a sun-scorched land.’

Psalms 68:4-6

Let’s get this day started by focusing on God and His Word! Let’s turn to God’s Word to help get us filled up with the right stuff and clean out the bad stuff! Let’s allow God’s Word to fill our hearts to overflow that from the overflow of our hearts the words our mouths speak will be glorifying to God!

Let’s be the dads who sing to God songs of praise! Let’s be the dads who sing to God songs that extol Him! Let’s be the dads who sing to God songs that show His joy overflowing from us! Let’s be the dads who sing and worship the one true God who is the Lord! Let’s be the dads who sing praise to God who is the father to the fatherless! Let’s be the dads who sing praise to God who is the defender of widows! Let’s be the dads who sing praise to God who is in His holy dwelling! Let’s be the dads who praise God for having put us in families! Let’s be the dads who praise God for having set us from being prisoners!
