Be Faithful In The Little Things – Day 1

Be Faithful In The Little Things

With only a few days before going offline, I searched for my next devotional and found this one from Vance K. Jackson titled Be Faithful In The Little Things through Bible.com plans. This devotional is only 3 days and is a powerful one for us to use in preparation for what is coming our way. This devotional will help us “pattern ourselves after Christ in every area of our life.” You can probably tell from the title but the direction of this devotional will be to be faithful as the intro puts it:

Be faithful over the little things. Be faithful over every assignment. Be faithful over the resources under your stewardship. Be faithful over your job. Be faithful over your business. Be faithful over your family. Be faithful over everything that God has blessed you with and He will enlarge your borders.

Be Faithful In The Little Things

Scripture from today’s devotional:

‘ “Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much. ‘

Luke 16:10

God’s Word is so powerful and it always amazes me how God is able to speak right into our very situation through one verse of a paragraph. Let’s grab hold of what God is telling us today!

Let’s be the dads who can be trusted with very little! Let’s be the dads who can be trusted with much! Let’s be the dads who choose to live honestly!

Let’s be the dads who realize that what we have been given belongs to God and that we are to be good stewards of it! Let’s be the dads be it little or much, and know that we are to be good stewards because it belongs to God! Many people are tested to see how they will manage their resources and money, and we are warned in God’s Word how the love of money is the root of all evil! Not that money is evil but that the heart, our heart is the key be it loving money or being generous with money! Compare:

For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.

1 Timothy 6:10

and

Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.

2 Corinthians 9:7

It’s a matter of the heart! So let’s choose to be good stewards! Let’s be the dads who no matter how much or how little we are given, steward it for the glory of God!
