Dad Strong – Day 2

UNCOMMEN - DAD STRONG - Settling Godly Expectations

As I get ready for a new devotional for dads, I was excited to find another one from UNCOMMEN titled Dad Strong. It’s incredible getting the opportunity not only to go through devotionals for dad but also to be able to reach out and connect with the various authors or publishers to ensure they are ok with me doing it and building a network of people who I can work with towards helping men Be The Dads they need to be. Today’s devotional comes with the following description from Bible.com and am looking forward to this 5-day devotional series.

Join us as we look at what it means to be Dad Strong. We set expectations, get involved, look at how we speak, talk about boundaries and get ready for the transition. Dad Strong seems to goes hand-in-hand with being Uncommen.

Today’s devotional is connected to the verses from God’s Word found in Psalms 32:8

‘I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you. ‘

Psalms 32:8

As we consider what it takes to be the dads God desires and created us to be, let’s reflect on this revelation from Psalms 32. Just like our Heavenly Father, we need to instruct our kids and teach our kids in the way they should go if we want to be the dads God created us to be. Just like our Heavenly Father, we need to counsel our kids with loving eyes on them to be the dads God purposed for us to be. So today as we continue into this devotional, let’s choose to be the dads who will instruct our kids and teach our kids in the way they should go based on what God is and has taught us in and through His Word and our relationship with Him. Let’s choose to be the dads who will counsel our kids with loving eyes on them demonstrating not only our unconditional love for them but also the Father’s love for them too.
